OpenDNS

Many years ago when I started down this internet safety path, researching and implementing settings, I came across OpenDNS.

OpenDNS had (and still have) a free account that lets you to filter websites on specific devices in your home.

How to Set Up Web Filters Using OpenDNS

You simply create your free account and select which categories you want blocked.  We are talking about things like pornography, gamblings, Violence etc.

There are 9 Free Ways that you can manage kid's content and screen time

OpenDNS then provide you with the DNS server addressess to setup in the the Network Settings of your child’s device/s.

You can use OpenDNS on Apple iPads and iPhones, Android Tablets and phones, popular gaming consoles, AppleTV, PC & MAC computer and laptops.

If you would like to create an OpenDNS account then head to www.opendns.com

Remember, setting up things like web filters does not mean that your child is 100% protected from being exposed to harmful content.  Web filters and other parental controls are merely tools in our Internet Safety Toolkit and as with all risky activities, parental supervision is best.
