Safe Email for Kids! An App Review

08/13/2016

Maily: Your Kids' First Email - Review

Maily - Kids First Email

I thought that it was about time we looked at something that was super fun!  An App that is safe for the kids to use and for your relatives and friends to enjoy with them.

Maily is an email App for kids.  It has fabulous tools that allow kids to be creative. Drawing,  backgrounds and crafting messages to send to their contacts.  Contacts that have been added and approved by their parents!

When Grandma (for example) receives a message, she logs into the Maily Dashboard on her computer to read and send back a child friendly message.

There are 9 Free Ways that you can manage kid's content and screen time

Parents:

Parents have a Maily dashboard which is accessed by using a 4 digit code.  This is where they can add and approve contacts which then allows the child to send messages as they please.  There is no concern about who the kids are communicating with.

There is also an option in  Parental controls where you choose to have copies of all messages sent to you as well.

Age Group:  5+

Benefits:

  • Maily is a secure, safe email for kids
  • Parents add their children’s accounts and contacts
  • Maily can be monitored by the parent via a locked dashboard
  • Mail has creative tools:  Stamps, paintbrushes and stationery

Teaching Opportunities:

  • Language
  • Reading
  • Drawing
  • Creativity

Downside:

Only one device/app per child – means that it is not an option if you have multiple children who do not each have their own device.  Of course, you can get around this by creating one account that your children share.

Cost:  FREE

The Ultimate Guide to setting safety controls on children's devices

Where can you get it from:

  • AppStore
  • Google Play

I am always on the lookout for fun and safe online activities for kids, so if you have been using one that you can recommend or that you would like me to review, then please contact me.  Thankyou to my two special friends who introduced me to Maily!

Download Maily today and enjoy it with your children!

I love this idea. Can Google Play be on a Kindle Tablet? I believe that is what my little Nephew uses. I lost my brother unexpectedly in January and it would sure be nice to be able to communicate with his younger son via techie stuff as that is how kids just seem to communicate.

Hi Pam. I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your brother earlier this year. It would be so lovely for you to be able to easily communicate with your nephew using Maily. Although I have not done it myself, I believe that you can use Google Play on an Kindle Tablet. I have found a link for you that walks you through the process.

I hope it all goes smoothly.

      Take care, Nic
